London Plane.
This piece is built from layered acrylic paint, echoing the textured bark of London Plane trees as it grows and peels — a natural adaptation that allows these trees to thrive in urban environments and withstand pollution.
A photograph I took of local Plane trees has been transferred onto the painted surface. I’m drawn to how the creative process sharpens my attention: how a simple, quickly captured image can become part of a slower, more integrated way of making.
The work consists of two panels, mounted on A4 card and presented within an A3 mount, ready for easy framing at home.
